Nadia Lipes is a historian and specialist in Jewish genealogy. She is absolutely involved in the research process and is able to put together the puzzles of any biography into a complete picture. Among other things, Nadya has a degree in sociology, which allows her to analyze and systematize information.

As a certified guide, Nadya founded a school for guides in Jewish Ukraine, and also develops Jewish tourist routes around the world.

Nadya regularly participates in conferences on Jewish genealogy around the world.

One of the topics that most interests her is the Jewish pogroms of 1917-21. She created a database of victims of these pogroms, this database is posted on the website jewishpogroms.info. Also in 2021, she wrote and published the book “Pogroms of 1917-1921: An Inconvenient Truth”, based exclusively on archival files. The book contains photocopies of original archival documents. The book is available for free download on the website jewishpogroms.info.

Nadya is also actively involved in the Holocaust in Ukraine. She is writing a series of books, “Atypical Holocaust.” The first book in the series, dedicated to the German occupation zone, has already been published. The second part, “The Romanian Occupation Zone,” is expected to be published by the end of the year. Having been involved in genealogy for over 15 years, Nadya realized that all the information available in Ukrainian archives needed to be systematized, and she created a database of Jewish documents in Ukraine.
